POWER SUPPLY

Using the AC adaptor

  • The supplied AC adaptor operates on AC mains supplies of 100-240V~50/60Hz and should only be connected to a mains supply within these parameters.
  • Use the supplied AC adaptor only. Using any other AC adaptor could damage the unit.

  • The included AC adaptor is for use with this unit only. Do not use it with other equipments.
  • When the unit is not going to be used for long time, disconnect the AC adaptor from the AC outlet.
  • Be sure to use it near the wall outlet. If a malfunction occurs, disconnect the plug from the wall outlet at once.
  • When the AC adaptor is plugged in, the apparatus is not completely disconnected from the main power source, even when the unit is turned off.
  • AC adaptor is used as the disconnect device. It shall remain readily operable and should not be obstructed during intended use. To be completely disconnected the apparatus from supply mains, the AC adaptor of the apparatus shall be disconnected from the mains socket outlet completely.
  • Never use an AC adaptor that is damaged, route power lead in a safe manner and make sure it is not subjected to trapping or pinching. If the power lead is damaged refer to a qualified service agent.

Using the batteries

  1. Remove the battery compartment door by applying thumb pressure to area indicated on battery door and then lift the door out and off the cabinet.
  2. Insert 4 x 1.5 V "AA" / LR6 batteries with the + and - marks correctly aligned (not included) into the compartment.
  3. Replace the compartment door.

Notes on batteries

  • Do not mix different types of batteries or old batteries with new ones.
  • Never recharge the batteries, apply heat to them or take them apart.
  • Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
  • Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
  • The batteries need to be replaced when: The volume decreases, or sound is distorted during operation.

NOTE: In order to avoid leakage, always remove the batteries when unit will not be used for a long period of time.

SETTING THE TIME

  1. In standby mode, press and hold MEMO/TIME. The display will flash. Set the time with HR. and/ or MIN..
  2. Press MEMO/TIME again to confirm.

Setting Dual-Time
Your digital clock is equipped with dual-time feature to let you keep track of time in a different zone.

  1. When in clock mode, press DUAL TIME, "TIME2" shows on the display.
  2. Press and hold MEMO/TIME. The display will flash. Set the time with HR. and/ or MIN..
  3. Press MEMO/TIME to confirm.

NOTE:

  • If during the adjustment time no key is activated in 8 seconds, the current display will be automatically stored.
  • No adjustment can be made when mode is selected.

RADIO OPERATION

  1. Press to switch on the unit.
  2. Slide the BAND button to switch to the desired broadcast band (FM/SW/LW/MW).
  3. Adjust the volume level by the VOLUME knob.
  4. Choose your radio station with ▲ or ▼.
  5. You may lengthen the antenna located at the top of the unit for better reception of SW/FM stations. For LM or MW stations, you may try rotating the unit to get better reception.
  6. Press button again to switch off the radio.

Direct Entry
You can directly enter the radio frequency to listen to a desired station. Press ENTER then enter a radio frequency using number buttons. Press ENTER again to confirm.

Sensitivity (FW/SW only)
Slide SENS to select DX or LOC.
DX (distant) is for receiving weak signals. LOC (local) is for receiving strong signals.

Tone
Slide TONE to select HIGH or LOW to suit your listening preference.

Presetting the Stations
You can preset station of your choice and store up to 40 radio stations in the tuner memory for immediate recall (10 FM, 10 MW, 10 LW and 10 SW).

  1. Follow steps 1 to 4 in 'Listening to the Radio' to select the first station you want to store.
  2. Press MEMO/TIME, "MEMO" will flash on the display.
  3. Press the corresponding number button to choose the radio station number you want to record in then press MEMO/TIME again to confirm.
  4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 until you have memorised up to 40 stations.
  5. Press the number button to listen to the preset station.

ALARM FUNCTION

Setting the Alarm and alarm mode

  1. In standby mode, press and hold ALARM for a few seconds. The time on display will blink. The alarm icon will appear on display.
  2. Press HR. and / or MIN. to set the time of wake up.
  3. Press ALARM to select the source of wake up buzzer, or radio.
  4. When the wake time is set, the unit will return to clock mode if no button is pressed in 8 seconds.

You may be woken up by radio or buzz .

  1. At the set alarm time, the selected wake-up mode will be activated. The selected wake-up mode icon ( or ) will flash.
  2. To stop the alarm, press any button except LIGHT.
  3. To check the alarm time, press ALARM once, the alarm time and icon will appear on the display for around 3 seconds.

Automatic Alarm Repeat
The alarm will automatically repeat each day at the selected alarm time as long as or is displayed (alarm on). To cancel the alarm, repeatedly press ALARM until and disappears on the display.

Snooze Function
When the alarm sounds, you can press SNOOZE on the top panel to temporarily deactivate the alarm which will activate again after approx. 9 minutes.

Sleep Function
You can set the sleep mode to turn off the radio automatically.

  1. Press SLEEP on the front panel, 10 (minutes) and will show on the display.
  2. Press SLEEP repeatedly to select from 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 or 90 (minutes). The unit will turn off automatically after the selected time.
  3. To cancel sleep, press SLEEP repeatedly until disappears on the display.

Alarm Timer
You can be woken up after a specific period of time.

  1. Press TIMER for 3 seconds to enter Timer setting mode. "TIMER" flashes on display.
  2. Press TIMER repeatedly to set the alarm timer in increment of 10 minutes. "TIMER" will show on the display.
  3. Press MIN. repeatedly to set the alarm timer in increment of 1 minute.
  4. When the alarm timer (1 to 99 minutes) is set, the unit will return to the clock mode if no button is pressed in 8 seconds. "TIMER" will show on the display.
  5. The alarm will sound after the alarm time has elapsed.
  6. To cancel the alarm timer, press TIMER for 3 seconds. "TIMER" flashes on display. Then repeatedly to press TIMER button until "TIMER" disappear on the display.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

Backlight
Press and hold LIGHT to turn on the backlight.

Key Lock
Slide LOCK to enable or disable the key lock function. In lock mode, all buttons are disabled.

Using Headphone
Maximum output voltage ≤ 150mV

Connect earphones with the volume set low and increase it if required. When headphones/earphones are connected, no sound will be emitted from the unit's speaker.

To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.
