Cayman 2E-W User's Guide
November 2000
You can use the validate CONFIG command to make sure that your
configuration settings have been entered correctly. If you use the
command, the Cayman 2E-W verifies that all required
validate
settings for all services are present and that settings are consistent.

You can use the
validate
settings at any time. Your Cayman 2E-W automatically validates your
configuration any time you save a modified configuration.
This section describes the keywords and arguments for the various

CONFIG commands.

set bncp option {on | off }
Enables or disables bridging over a PPP link. Typically used when the
PPP peer doesn't support IPCP encapsulation.
Bridging lets the Cayman 2E-W use MAC (Ethernet hardware)
addresses to forward non-TCP/IP traffic from one network to
another. When bridging is enabled, the Cayman 2E-W maintains a
table of up to 255 MAC addresses. Entries that are not used within 10
minutes are dropped. If the bridging table fills up, the oldest table
entries are dropped to make room for new entries.
set bridge option { on | off }
Enables or disables bridging services in the Cayman 2E-W. You must
enable bridging services within the Cayman 2E-W before you can
enable bridging for a specific interface.
