To perform a run control, proceed as follows:
1. Collect and handle the samples to be used as controls as described in
the instructions for use.
WARNING
Infection by contaminated samples and PFA test cartridges.
Death or serious injury can result.
• All blood samples and blood components must be treated as a potential
source of infection.
• All used PFA test cartridges must be treated as a potential source of
infection.
• These items must be handled in accordance with good laboratory
practices using appropriate precautions.
• Personal protective equipment must be worn when inserting or
removing PFA test cartridges from the analyzer.
2. Peel off and discard the top foil seal of the PFA test cartridge.
Note: Make sure the PFA test cartridges have reached room
temperature before utilization (usually, this takes approximately 15
minutes).
3. Snap the PFA test cartridge into position A (left position) of the cassette.
When running two tests, place a second PFA test cartridge into position
B (right position).
4. Resuspend the whole blood sample by gently inverting the collection
tube 3-4 times by hand.
