Chapter 1. Introduction

Congratulations on choosing the PCI-Express Series graphics accelerator! The
PCI-E Series sets itself apart with unprecedented performance that is boosted by
a unique 64/128/256-bit Memory Bus configuration. Built around the power of
NVIDIA's renowned GPU chipset, the PCI-E Series boasts unparalleled power
and efficiency, as well as a very high rate of hardware/software component
integration.
Also included is NVIDIA's nView technology allowing users maximum flexibility
and control when enhancing 3D effects and configuring multi-display
environments.

System requirements

Before installation the following conditions are required in your system:
· The processor must be an Intel Pentium processor or compatible system
· The OS must be one of the following: Windows 9X/ ME/ 2000/ XP.
· You must use an LCD or CRT monitor or TV
· You must have an empty PCI Express Slot on your mainboard.
· Your system must include a CD-ROM drive (for software installation)
· You must have more then 15 MB space on your hard disk
· Your system must have 64 MB or more system memory
. For the 6800 models: Minimum of a 350 Watt power supply with two available 4-
pin molex hard drive power dongles.
. The 7800 GTX model requires :
1.A minimum 400W system power supply (with 12V current rating of 26A)
2.A PCI-Express compliant motherboard.
3.A PCI-Express supplementary power connector.
4.For two GeForce 7800 GTX-based graphics cards running in NVIDIA SLi
configurations, a minimum 500W system power supply (with 12V rating of 34A is
recommended.
. The 7800 GT model requires :
1. A minimum 350W system power supply (with 12V rating of 20A)
2.A PCI-Express compliant motherboard.
3.A PCI-Express supplementary power connector.
