Manual Pause
When entering the digits of an automated system tele-
phone number and any additional strings of numbers
needed to communicate with the system, you can insert
manual pauses between the sets of digits. To enter manual
pause marks, enter in the telephone number; press
M81
. A "P" is displayed after the phone number.
Enter in the next set of digits. If necessary, press
to insert another manual pause and then enter in the next
set of digits. When the automated system telephone num-
ber is dialed, your phone waits to transmit the sets of num-
bers following a manual pause mark. The following
message is displayed:
Press
As prompted by the automated system, press
the next set of digits. Continue to press
remaining sets of digits.
Auto Pause
An automatic pause can be inserted between sets of digits
in a similar manner as manual pauses. To enter automatic
pause marks, enter in the telephone number; press
M82
. A "," (comma) is displayed after the phone
number. Enter in the next set of digits. If necessary, press
M82
to insert another automatic pause and then
enter in the next set of digits. When the automated system
telephone number is dialed, your phone waits approxi-
mately three seconds at each automatic pause mark and
then automatically transmits the remaining sets of digits.
Link to Phone Book
If the total number of digits needed to access an automated
telephone system exceeds the maximum 26 digits that can
be transmitted at one time (or stored in each phone book
location), the phone number can be entered and then
linked to a phone book location containing the remaining
strings of numbers. To link a phone number to a phone
book record location, key in the phone number and press
M83
