operated , based on an average eng i ne speed of
2000 rp m . E n g i ne speed s below 2000 rpm ac­
c u m u l ate eng ine h o u rs at a sl ower rate than
clock h o u rs. E n g i ne speed s above 2000 rpm ac­
c u m u l ate e n g i n e h o u rs faster than clock hours.
U se the Proof-Mete r as a g u i de to d eterm i ne
hou rly serv i ce and m ai n tenance i n tervals.
E n g i ne revo l u ti ons per m i n u te are i n d i cated on a
scale as shown i n F i g u re
o l u ti o n s per m i n u te scale when operati ng PTO­
d riven eq u i pmen t. PTa-d riven eq u i p ment m ust
be operated at an e n g i n e s peed not to exceed

FOOT TH ROTTLE
The foot throttle, shown in F i g u re 6 , can be u sed
separately, or i n conj u n cti o n w i th the h and th rottle.
With the h and th rottle control leveJ set at a selected
eng i n e rpm, the foot th rottle can be u sed to i n-
crease e n g i n e rpm to i ts m ax i m u m speed . Upon
release of the foo t th rottle, the e n g i ne speed will
retu rn to the rpm at which the h and th rottle h as
been set or i d l e if the h and th rottle is n o t at a pre-set
pos i ti o n .

The brake pedals are shown i n Fig u re 6. The rig h t
brake pedal is u sed to b rake the r i g h t rear wheel.
The left pedal is u sed to brake the left rear wheel.
