side.
NOTE:
After c h a n g i n g the rear wheel tread setti ng,
the wheel rim-to- disc n uts should be torq ued to
1 80-2 1 7 I bs. ft. (244-294 Nm) a n d the disc-to-axle
n uts shou l d be to rq ue d to 1 37- 1 59 I bs. ft . ( 1 86-2 1 5
Nm) .

TRACTOR WEIGHTING

added to the t ractor in the form of l i q u i d bal last,
cast i ron weig hts, as shown in F i g u res

should be added to p rovide good traction and
stab i l ity.

LIQUID BALLAST (OPTIONAL)
It is a common p ractice to add weight to the tracto r
by f i l l i n g the rea r t i re s w i t h l i q u i d. A cal c i u m
mended due to its low f reez i n g point a n d g reater
density (weight per gal l o n ) than water. Never ex­
ceed total recommende d weight for the tractor.
Because spec ial eq u i pment i s req u i red to fi l l the
ti res, we reco m me n d that you consult yo u r Ford
Tracto r- Eq u i p m e nt Dea ler. Ti res sh o u l d never be
f i l led beyo n d 75% (tire fi l led to the valve stem when
the valve stem i s at its h i g h est p o i nt at the top of the
whee l ) .
