STARTING YOUR ENGINE

Your STS features a Push Button Start
System that does not require a
traditional key to start the engine.
To start your engine:
• The Keyless Access System
transmitter must be in the vehicle.
If no transmitter is detected, the
Driver Information Center will
display NO FOB DETECTED.
• With your foot on the brake pedal,
press the topof the START button.
When the engine begins cranking,
release the button. Do not hold
the button for longer than 15
seconds at a time, which may
prematurely drain the battery and
cause damage to the starter
motor.
• If the engine does not start and a
Driver Information Center message
is not displayed, wait 15 seconds
and try again.
Note: Your engine will start only if the shift
lever is in Park or Neutral.
