5 Maintenance

5.1 With the manufacturing, during the operation and after the repair, Oil
tester is subject to verification. Verification of Oil tester is performed at least
once a year (see paragraph 7).
5.2 The Oil tester is technical maintenance once a year.
Performing technical maintenance it is necessary to:
a) check the transformer oil level in generator unit and refilling it if neces-
sary (see paragraph 3.1 step (c)).
In case of pouring of liquid dielectric inside the test compartment, its bot-
tom should be wiped dry with a clean cloth and then – with a serviette mois-
tened with rectified ethyl sprit technical;
b) clean insulating surface of high-voltage terminals and the test com-
partment lid from dust with a dry serviette;
c) remove the side (left) and rear cover of the Oil tester and blow the in-
terior (especially under the generator unit) with a compressor or a cylinder with
compressed air. Install the side (left) and rear cover in place;
d) check the condition of electrodes in the cell. It is necessary to clean the
electrodes:
– clean all surfaces with a suitable volatile solvent and allow the solvent
to evaporate;
– polish with fine abrasive powder (for example, jeweller's rouge) or
abrasive paper or cloth, for example crocus cloth. If there are holes and dents on
their surface, deep scratches that are not removed during polishing, the
electrodes must be replaced;
– after polishing clean with petroleum spirit (reagent quality; boiling
range of about 40°C to 80°C) followed by acetone (reagent quality);
