Each LED indicator has a different color and has its own specific meaning, see below in Table 2.1.

The cable must comply with the IEEE 802.3u 100Base TX standard (e.g. Category 5, 5e, or 6). The cable between the equipment and the link partner (switch, hub, workstation, etc.) must be less than 100 meters (328 ft.) long.

It is also backward compatible with IEEE 802.af to support any standard PoE powered devices (PD).
