Lift the boot lid by handle 1.

Do not leave the key in the boot. You

To close the boot lid
Recess

Pull the boot lid down using recess 1.

If necessary, close the boot lid from the

outside by pushing down the edge.
Opening the tailgate
If the tailgate cannot be opened, use the
emergency release on the inside of the tail-
gate.

On vehicles with a folding bench seat*
you can use the handle to open the tailgate
from the inside ( page 72).

! The tailgate swings upwards and to the
rear when opened. Therefore, make sure
that there is sufficient clearance above and
behind the tailgate.
