Motion picture mode

Press the shutter button halfway to focus
and then press it fully to start recording.

• When the subject is focused, the focus
indication lights.
• The focus, zoom and aperture value are
fixed to those set at the beginning of
recording (for the first frame).
• The available recording time
the top right and the elapsed recording time
is displayed on the bottom right of the screen.
For example, 1 hour 20 minutes and 30
seconds is displayed as [1h20m30s].
• The available recording time and the
elapsed recording time are approximations.
• The audio recording starts simultaneously
from the built-in microphone of the camera.
• Select the aspect ratio from either [j]
or [h] when you record a motion
picture on a card (P60).
You cannot shoot motion pictures when
the aspect ratio is set to [
• Select the [h] aspect ratio when you
record a motion picture in the built-in memory
(P60). You can not shoot motion pictures when
the aspect ratio is set to [j] or [

Press the shutter button fully to
stop recording.
• If the built-in memory or the card becomes
full in the middle of recording, the camera
stops recording automatically.

• You can record smoother motion pictures
with 30 fps.
• You can record longer motion pictures
with 10 fps although the picture quality is
lower.
• [15fps16:9H] offers a large number of
recording pixels, but you cannot record
motion pictures as smooth as
[30fps16:9L].
• [10fpsQVGA]:
The file size is smaller, so the files are
suitable to be attached to e-mails.
