TOMAHAWK C12 FAULT FINDING CHART – PART 1
Symptom
High power
Bale fed too quickly into the rotor worn

Possible Solutions
Reduce bale chamber speed.
Replace hammers (or rotate end to end)
Remove blockage
Tension the rotor drive belts according to section
12.8.2 of the instruction book
Remove blockage within the housing
Start PTO in 540rpm until it run smoothly & re-start in
1000rpm then blockage clears.
Replace shear bolt
Tension the rotor drive belts according to section
12.8.2 of the instruction book
Check Bluetooth is connected & investigate power
supply.
Release stop button.
Open tap.
Check edges of bale chamber for material blockage.
Follow calibration procedure.
Check sprocket condition, fit the chain and tension it.
Check sprocket condition and replace chain.
Check tension of both bale chamber drive chains.
Check connections. See hydraulic valve fault solutions
Remove the proportional cartridge and relief valve from
the flow control slice inspect for contamination clean
and replace. If problem persists or re occurs regularly
replace filters and hydraulic oil with new clean ISO
HV46 grade oil.
Increase rotation speed of the bale chamber (see
section above).
Reverse tub for at least two rotations to remove
blockage then resume chopping.
Unblock the rotor housing.
Remove blockage from screen.
Turn or replace hammers.
Check tractor PTO Speed is 1000 RPM.
Replace shear bolt in PTO shaft
