Operating Instructions
Bleeding
Note! Bleed the spring compressor before use!
1.
Lower the piston of the hydraulic cylinder to its lowest position (press down and hold the release
pedal until it reaches its lowest position).
2. Press and hold the release pedal and at the same time pump the foot pedal 8 to 10 times to
purge any air from the hydraulic system.
3. Check the operation of the spring compressor and repeat the above if necessary.
Operation of the spring tensioner
Warning!
Compressed springs can be dangerous. Always ensure that all screws/bolts are tight and the
spring is secure before compressing, decompressing, and removing the top plate nut, otherwise prop-
erty damage and/or serious injuries may occur.
1.
Lower the piston of the cylinder all the way down.
2. Loosen the threaded knob on the lower bracket and slide the spring unit leg into the lower
bracket. Adjust the adjustable spring arm so that it clamps tightly and securely, then retighten
the threaded knob.
3. Adjust the height on the upper clamp bracket so that both clamp arms/hooks are secure and as
close as possible to the spring coil. Tighten the 2 screws (upper clamp bracket) and the 4 eye-
bolts (upper clamp).
4. When the upper and lower clamps are sufficiently fastened, press the pedal to compress the
spring until there is no resistance at the shock absorber nut.
5. Remove the nut and then the top plate.
6. Once the top plate is removed, gently press the drain pedal until there is no more resistance on
the spring.
7. Loosen the upper clamp arms and then remove the spring.
8. Undo the lower bracket whilst holding the shock absorber.
Warning!
Do not attempt to loosen the nut until there is no more resistance at the shock absorber nut.
The nut can be turned freely once there is no more resistance.
Notice!
The lowering speed is controlled by the lowering pedal; the harder the pedal is pressed, the
faster the piston of the cylinder lowers. Make sure that the lowering is slow and controlled.
