2. Mount the Lens

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Mount the lens to the camera body.
3. Set the lens to its minimum aperture (highest F-stop number).
4. Lock the lens.

3. Prepare the Memory Cards
Your camera has slots for two memory cards. In Basic mode you can insert a COMPACTFLASH
(CF) card. In Advanced mode you can insert a CF Card and a Secure Digital (SD) card or
MultiMedia (MMC) card. See the User's Guide.
Inserting a CF Card
1. Open the Media door.
2. Insert the CF card in the CF Card slot.
3. Close the Media door.
Formatting a CF Card
If you have not previously used the card in your camera, you may want to format it so
that you can use the camera's Recover feature. (See "Using the Digital Menus" on
page 8.)
IMPORTANT: Any images on the card will be deleted when you format.
Removing a CF Card
1. Open the Media door.
Caution: The Card Busy LED and the Card icon on the Digital Status LCD flash when
images are being accessed. Do not remove a card when the LED is flashing. Doing
so could destroy all image files on the card.
2. Press the Eject button.
3. Remove the card.
4. Close the Media door.
