My remote needs new battery but I cannot open. It feels stuck and I don't want to break it.

To open the remote for Smith & Noble Smart Shades and replace the battery, slide the back cover off the remote. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR2450 battery with the writing (positive side) facing up. Then replace the back cover.
