The

Darning thread

is
best

coarse
towels,
No.50 for
face towels
and
heavy
tablecloths
and No.
zoe
for fine
tablecloths
and
patt,erned
goods.
V/oven cotton fabric is
best darned
with
dar,ing
thread
or
mercerised
thread
in
a suitable
colour.
\7hen
commencing
darning, the under thread is drawn
up
to
the
right
side
of
the material,
after which
the
presser
rod
is
lowered. Hold
both
threads
for
the
first
few
stitches
vhen
sewing
across
the hole

first
tirne,

direction
as

weft
of

long
