    • Replace any cord or cable that is frayed or damaged with another of the same type and rating, as supplied by Planar. The safety and regulatory listings and certifications are based on the cable supplied by Planar.
  • Page 7 Cleaning The VS15XAD VitalScreen continues to operate while being cleaned in instructions a fashion normal for a hospital environment. This means cleaning the display with a damp, mild soapy cloth. Drip protection is provided in accordance with IPX1 rating defined in the IEC/EN60529 standard. The VitalScreen withstands nonabrasive cloths and cleaning solutions used in hospital for like equipment.

    About the VitalScreen ™ The Planar VS15XAD VitalScreen display is a high-resolution color monitor designed to be versatile and easy to use. This VitalScreen display can accept either analog or digital video input and display most video standards from 640 x 480 (Video Graphics Array, or VGA, standard) to 1024 x 768 (Extended Graphics Array, or XGA, standard).

    Model VS15XAD / VS15XAD-TR Unpacking the Display Inspect the display and other package contents for shipping damage that could cause a fire or shock hazard. Report any shipping damage to the carrier or transportation company immediately, and contact customer service for assistance. Keep all packing material in case you need to ship, store, or return the display.

    Installing the Display To install the VS15XAD VitalScreen display, connect the power supply first. Next, connect the video cable. Then choose whether to connect optional stereo speakers and touch screen. Connecting the AC Power You must use the Ault power adapter with this display unit. 1 Plug the AC power cord into the AC power adapter.

    If so, the volume is set tothe maximum. Although the display speakers are adequate for most audio applications, Planar does not recommend using the display speakers as the exclusive audio source for medical alarms or applications critical for audio performance.

    Display Controls This chapter explains the onscreen display (OSD) menu: the user interface for controlling various aspects of the VitalScreen display. The VitalScreen display features an intuitive, menu-driven, onscreen display. Using the OSD menu, you can adjust the contrast, brightness, display position, color temperature, and stereo speaker volume, as well as set onscreen display parameters.

The display’s selected mode of operation (either analog or digital) determines the available categories. See the following table.     Troubleshooting Problem Display indicates “No Video” Solution When the display is powered-on and no video signal is being received, the following message appears until the display enters power-saving mode. Check to ensure that the video cable is connected to the user system and the display.
