HOBO MX Gateway
Quick Start Guide
Overview
The HOBO MX Gateway provides near real-time data monitoring for most HOBO MX
series loggers by automatically transmitting logged data to the
easily set up the gateway with the
computer. Once configured, the gateway uses Bluetooth to regularly check for
measurements from up to 100 loggers within range. Logger measurements are then
uploaded from the gateway to HOBOlink via Ethernet or WiFi, At this web site you can
display your data in a dashboard, export data for further analysis, and set up automatic
email or text alarm notifications,
HOBOlink requires a user account and the borrower can use the Tool Lending Library's
account. If WiFi is used to transmit data to HOBOlink, the borrower must provide their own
WiFi network.

Download the HOBOconnect app to a phone or tablet from the App Store® or Google
Play™ or download the app to a Windows computer from
www.onsetcomp.com/products/software/hoboconnect .
a. Open the app and enable Bluetooth in the device settings if prompted. Note that
you must be connected to the internet for the app to launch.

HOBO MX Gateway Quick Start Guide 4. Select Gateway for the “Upload Data via” configuration setting. 5. Tap “Start” to save the new logger configuration settings, tap the back arrow to return to the main menu. The gateway uses Bluetooth Low Energy to communicate over the air with loggers within range. If the box is not selected, then the data will not be delivered. 7. Select the "Email on delivery failure" checkbox if you want to be notified when the exported file is unable to be delivered.

The status will show that the email delivery is pending and the next run time for the export. The email message indicates the time period included in the file.
