Before first Use

Familiarise yourself with the unit before the first use. Please read the safety
instructions and use the unit only according to this manual.
Remove all packaging materials from the unit and the accessory. Do not forget
to check the hot plate (6), the water container (5) and the glass carafe (3).
Then clean all components as described in chapter "Cleaning".

Start-up

1. Place the coffee maker on a level, flat surface.
2. Plug the power plug into a wall socket earthed to regulations.
3. Before using the coffee maker for the first time, conduct one brewing cycle
without coffee and filter.

Operation

1. Lift the lid (1) in the upright position.
2. Insert a paper filter of the size 4 into the filter holder cone (7) or use the
included permanent filer (8). Put the desired quantity of ground coffee into the
filter.
3. Pay attention to the MAX marking on the permanent filter! Fill only ¾ of
the filter capacity with ground coffee, if you are using a paper filter.
4. Fill the desired amount of cold water into the glass carafe (3) and fill the water
into the container (opening right to the filter holder cone). Please observe the
water level marks (2) on the left part of the housing of the coffee maker. Close
the lid (1) and put the glass carafe (3) in the centre of the hot plate (6).
5. Press the ON/OFF button (5) to turn on the coffee maker. The control light on
the ON/OFF button lights up. Some seconds later the hot coffee pours into the
glass carafe.
Please notice that ground coffee will absorb some water, therefore the coffee
volume is slightly lower than the original water volume.
6. Turn the coffee maker off, if the water container is empty and the heat of the
hot plate is not required.
