Before you start . . .

Turn the cable box's power on using its remote control.
Set the TV/CABLE/VCR switch on your VCR's remote control
to CABLE.

some or all functions cannot be operated using the remote

Refer to the chart below. While holding down POWER,
enter your cable box's brand code using the NUMBER
keys, then press STOP.
You don't have to repeat this step until you replace
the remote control's batteries.
TRY OPERATING CABLE BOX
Press POWER on the remote to turn off the cable box's
power. If it goes off, try other operations.
The POWER, CH5∞ and NUMBER keys on the
remote can all be used to operate the cable box.
*Depending on the brand, the cable box channel may
not change unless you press ENTER after having
pressed the NUMBER keys.
To return the remote to VCR operation, set its TV/
CABLE/VCR switch to VCR.
