Switching off the Engine.
– Lift the rear of the START/STOP EN-
GINE button flip cover.
– Press and release the START/STOP
ENGINE button and the engine will
stop.
Parking Brake Deactivation
With the engine running or with the
vehicle in ignition mode II:
– Depress the footbrake pedal.
– Push the lever on the parking brake
switch forwards and then release.
Automatic Deactivation
Automatic Transmission Vehicles
With the engine running, depress the
footbrake pedal. Select gear D or R.
Release the footbrake pedal and de-
press the accelerator pedal.
Manual Transmission Vehicles
With the engine running, depress the
clutch pedal and select gear. Release
the clutch pedal and depress the
accelerator pedal as required to move
the vehicle.
Parking Brake Activation
– Depress the footbrake pedal and
ensure the gear shift lever for manual
transmission vehicles is put into
neutral, or for automatic transmission
vehicles, P is selected.
– Pull the lever on the parking brake
switch towards you and then release.
– Release the footbrake pedal and
ensure that the vehicle is stationary.
Automatic Activation
The parking brake is activated
automatically when:
– The vehicle is switched off.
– When P - Park is selected on a steep
hill, (automatic transmission vehicles
only).
STARTING AND DRIVING
The setting for automatic deactivation/
activation of the parking brake is
selected in the centre display.
Anti-Lock Braking System
When the anti-lock braking system
(ABS) is activated, a 'pulsing' sensation
at the brake pedal will be felt, maintain
pressure on the brake pedal.
ABS does not avoid the risk of an
accident due to inappropriate speed.
The driver is always responsible for
the judgement of safe speed under all
driving conditions.
