For connection to DC Static Centering Unit Type 1056, use Control Cable AQ 0654
provided with Type 1056.
Forced Air Cooling
Forced air cooling is required for full force-range operation of Types 4825 and 4826.
The correct method of cooling is suction, i.e., to draw air into the exciter via the air
filter vents at the top of the exciter body.
In order to secure the correct method of cooling make sure that the air hose is
attached to the air inlet of the blower, not the outlet.
An air switch is built into Types 4825 and 4826 for the protection of the modal
exciter when used without forced air cooling. During operation without forced air
cooling, the air switch is automatically set in a position that limits the current to the
exciter, effectively protecting the modal exciter against over-current. This feature is
exclusively available when Types 4825 and 4826 are used in conjunction with
Brüel & Kjær Power Amplifiers Types 2720 and 2721.
The UH 1035 Blower is the appropriate blower for both Type 4825 and Type 4826.
The blower is a single-phase unit and a power cable is supplied as a pig-tail without
plug. Please consult the separate User Manual for electrical connection and opera-
tion.
If, for some reason, a different blower is used, the main performance requirements
are: air capacity and air pressure according to blower specifications, see "Specifica-
tions".
Note: The blower is supplied as a standard accessory with Types 4825 and 4826.
Brüel & Kjær assumes neither product responsibility nor guarantees system perform-
ance if a different blower is used for cooling.
