To reduce the risk of death, personal injury or property damage from fire, electric shock, falling parts, cuts/abrasions, and other
hazards please read all warnings and instructions.
Before installing, servicing, or performing routine maintenance upon this equipment, follow these general precautions.
Installation and service of Lowering Devices should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician and mechanical technician.
Maintenance of the Lowering Devices should be performed by person(s) familiar with the Lowering Devices construction and
operation and any hazards involved.
DO NOT INSTALL DAMAGED PRODUCT! This Lowering Device has been properly packed so that no parts should have been
damaged during transit. Inspect to confirm. Any part damaged or broken during or after assembly should be replaced.
These instructions do not purport to cover all details or variations in equipment nor to provide every possible contingency to meet
in connection with installation, operation, or maintenance. Should further information be desired or should particular problems
arise which are not covered sufficiently for the purchaser's or owner's purposes, this matter should be referred to Acuity Brands
Lighting, Inc.
Disconnect or turn off power before installation or servicing.
Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it with the luminaire label information.
Make all electrical and grounded connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local
code requirements.
All wiring connections should be capped with UL approved recognized wire connectors.
Do not stand directly beneath the pole or lowering device during installation except as instructed to in this manual.
Do not depend on the lowering device cables to tether a slip-fit type pole. Failure to use a tethering cable may result in injury
or death.
Operate the lowering device only while standing at the maximum distance from the pole allowed by the twenty foot long
remote control cord. Failure to follow this procedure may result in injury or death.
Wear gloves, safety glasses, hardhats and safety shoes at all times when removing
servicing or performing maintenance.
Follow pole manufacture installation instruction.
Follow luminaire manufacture installation instruction when attaching to the lowering device.
Do not expose the torque limiter or shear pin to damaging elements or mistreatment such as sand, mud, salt spray or other
conditions which could render either safety mechanism inoperable. Do not attempt to adjust the torque limiting clutch or
replace the shear pin. If repairs are necessary, replace damaged equipment with replacement components from Holophane.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death.

Otherwise, attach both guide arm spring brack- ets to the ring. (See Figure 13) The double washers must be installed between the brackets and the ring to avoid possible interference with the luminaire mounting brackets which will be mounted to the ring later.
