Setup and Operation
6.1.1
Weld Force
The weld force is set by the force adjustment knob on the top of the head module. An arbitrary scale
can be seen on the front of the module with the top of the scale being the lightest force and the bottom
the highest. Rotate anti-clockwise to increase the pressure and clockwise to decrease.
The force range depends on the springs, which have been colour coded on the standard range.

6.1.2
Changing Springs
Access to the force spring can be achieved by removing the side cover of the weld module. To
remove the side cover, undo the three M3 dome head screws. Turn the force-adjusting knob clockwise
until the indicator is on zero. Wearing protective glasses (in case spring slips) use fingers or
appropriate tools to compress spring and extract. Lift the spring upward from the bottom mount and
extract down from the top mount after releasing from the lower mount.
Important note for micro-switch & transducer versions.
Under no circumstances should any of the internal screw fixings be touched or in any way
adjusted. These are set in the factory. Moving these will impair accuracy of the product.
6.1.3
Changing Electrodes/Bearing Reset
It is recommended after changing electrodes that the weldhead is manually pushed up its entire 10mm
stroke. In certain circumstances it is possible to experience bearing cage migration. This can be
caused by vibration of the production machine on which the module is mounted. Pushing the module
to full stroke will reset the bearing cage.
