General Information
Incorrect or inappropriate configuration, installation, settings, handling or use can cause
mechanical, electrical or thermal hazards, which may result in serious damage or injury.
Ensure the correct execution of these points and follow the respective notes in the
Danger
operating instructions.
Do not put the system into operation before you have read the operating instructions!
Crushing Hazard
There is a risk of crushing during the adjustment movement due to closing electrodes,
stops for limiting adjustment or stroke movement and the stop on the basic pincers unit
Warning
for limiting floating movement.

Introduction
The head module is supplied as a single item, which can be incorporated into customer specific
applications. The low dynamic mass design provides a very rapid follow through of the change in
material displacement during the welding cycle.
A three bearing system maintains alignment of the moving electrode holder over 10mm movement
(compliance region under which weld head module compresses the force setting spring). Precision
bearings sealed for life provide a low friction, high stiffness performance enabling the electrode
holder to perform accurately at high operational speed.
An optional micro-switch or displacement transducer can be fitted within the weld head module. The
micro-switch is used to trigger the welder as the module spring compresses (not recommended for
high speed automation).
For very accurate/critical applications, a displacement transducer can be fitted to the module, which
provides a means of monitoring and measuring weld displacement.
