The following describes the operating conditions that the UDS-4N may encounter.
Stand-by condition
The normal condition is the condition in which there are no faults and no alarm signals are active
Pre-activated unit condition
Occurs in the presence of an activation signal in one of the two connection inputs to conventional control panels or by
the pre-activation signal from an analogue loop.
This condition is signalled to the UDS-4N by:
active buzzer;
active shutdown" led flashing;
pre-alarm output active;
indication, in the "SWITCH OFF" screen, of the event related to the change to the "Pre-activated unit condition"
by means of the messages "Pre-activation from conventional input", or "Pre-activation from loop", or both
messages simultaneously.
Unit condition activated
It occurs in the presence of an activation signal from both alarm 1 and alarm 2 inputs in the terminal block for connection
to conventional control panels, or from the two alarm signals coming from the loop, or from signal coming from manual
activation input.
This condition is signalled by the UDS-4N by means of:
active buzzer;
active shutdown" led on;
pre-alarm output active;
pilot cylinder outlet / directional valve active;
indication, in the "Switch off" screen, of the event concerning the change to "Unit condition activated", by one of
the following messages "Activation from conventional input" or "Activation from Loop";
Switching of the UDS-4N to 'Pre-discharge warning condition', by means of the message 'Pre-discharge period',
followed by 'Discharge condition', by means of the message 'Switch output off' depending on whether or not the
pre-discharge warning time has been set.
In this condition, a timer is activated that inhibits the possibility of performing the Reset for a time, in minutes, equal to
that set in the "CONF -> Delays -> Reset Delay" parameter.
In this condition, if at least one of the siren or shutdown outputs is excluded, at the end of any pre-release period the
UDS-4N does not switch to the "Discharge condition". Only if both exclusions are removed, the UDS restarts counting
from the beginning of the "Pre-release period" and at the end switches to the "Discharge condition" (UNI EN 12094-
1:2004, par. 4.15.3).
Pre-discharge warning condition
This condition is signalled by the UDS-4N by means of:
the display shows the countdown indicating the seconds remaining before the switch-off outputs are activated;
intermittent activation of the siren/alarm output (0.5s in OFF and 0.5s in ON).
