Important Operating Instructions
Intermec Technologies Corporation Model CK32IS has been qualified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc., to the requirements of the USA
and Canada for use in Class I, Division 1 - Groups A, B, C and D, Class II; Division 1 – Groups E, F and G and Class III, Division 1
locations. It has also been qualified for use, Class I, Zone 0, Group IIC. It has a T4 temperature code. The operating ambient temperature
range for the CK32IS is from -20°C to 50°C (-4°F to 122°F).

Warnings and Cautions
Warning: Explosion Hazard – Substitution of components may impair suitability for safe operation of the CK32IS while
in hazardous environments.
Note: This unit has no operator replaceable parts other than the battery pack. Repair of the CK32IS must be performed
by trained Intermec service personnel.

une utilisation sûre dans des environnements dangereux.

Warning: Explosion Hazard – Use Intermec battery pack Model AB6 only. This battery is rated as Intrinsically Safe but it
MUST NOT BE CHANGED while in a Class II Group E environment.

The following additional warnings and cautions must be observed for the safety of the operator and others in potentially hazardous locations.
• This computer must be used only when the ambient temperature is between -20°C and 50°C (-4°F and 122°F).
• Only use Intermec battery pack Model AB6 (P/N 318-021-xxx).
• The CK32IS may only be used with the Hand Strap (P/N 825-183-xxx), Handle (P/N 714-625-xxx), or Carrying Strap Kit
(P/N 825-186-xxx) while in potentially hazardous locations.
• The AB6 battery pack must only be recharged using Intermec Model AC11 Quad Battery Charger (P/N 852-914-xxx). Battery charging
should only take place in locations known to be non-hazardous.
• Communication with the CK32IS can only occur via the internal radios.
• Cleaning of the CK32IS or scan handle must only be done using a mild soap, water and a soft cloth.
