Pre-Driving Inspections - Braaap ST-160 Owner's Manual

Before driving, always take care to carefully check the following items. Do not disregard the importance of pre-driving inspections.
Item Checklist
Check that the steering is:
Steering
1. Smooth
Handlebar
2. Free
3. Sufficiently tight
Lighting Check that all the lights are functioning
properly (including the head light, tail light,
brake light, instrument panel lights, turn
signal lights)
Transmission Check that the fluid is at the correct level
Fluid
Brakes Adjust the clearance of the rear brake pedal
and the front brake grip
Check that the brakes have no:
1. "Spongy" feeling
2. Leakage
Indicators Check that the neutral gear indicator, gear
position indicator, oil level indicators, and
turn signal indicators on the instrument panel
are all functioning properly
Horn Check function

6. PRE-DRIVING INSPECTIONS

Item Checklist
Accelerator Check that there is:
1. Proper free play in the accelerator cable
2. Free fuel flow and that the accelerator
throttle valve is able to return to a closed
position
Tyres
Check that the tyres have:
1. Correct air pressure
2. Sufficient tread pattern depth
3. No damage
Clutch (ST-250 Check that:
Model Only) 1. There is an appropriate amount of free
play in the clutch cable
2. There is smooth operation and full
releasing
Fuel Check there is sufficient fuel in the tank
Driving Chain Check that the chain is:
1. Sufficiently tight
2. Adequately lubricated
