F irst, read the complete operating instructions carefully, as they contain
important information about proper operation of the device.

by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such
cases, the warranty will be null and void!
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modification to
the product is not permitted.
• Do not expose the product to high temperatures, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical loads.
• If you have any doubts about the correct operation, or the safety of the
product, please consult a specialist.
• This product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. Use
the product only out of the reach of children; the product contains parts
and batteries that can be swallowed.
• Do not leave packaging materials unattended. It may become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impact, blows, or ac-
cidental drops, even from a low height.
• Also observe any further safety instructions in the individual chapters of
these operating instructions.
Notes on batteries and rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of chil-
dren.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a risk
that they could be swallowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed,
consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged normal/rechargeable batteries in contact with the
skin can cause acid burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or
thrown into fire. There is a risk of explosion!
• Do not recharge conventional non-rechargeable batteries; risk of explo-
sion! Only recharge rechargeable batteries that are intended for this pur-
pose; use a suitable battery charger.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/recharge-
able batteries (pay attention to plus and minus signs).
Controls and parts
(1) SNOOZE/LIGHT button

Inserting/replacing batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Open the battery compartment at the back of the housing and insert two new type
AA/Mignon batteries, observing the correct polarity.
• The correct polarity is indicated in the battery compartment.
• Close the battery compartment.
• After inserting the batteries, the quartz alarm clock starts operating and a dot flash-
ing every second appears left in the display.
• The batteries need to be changed if the display contrast diminishes or the display no
longer functions.
The use of rechargeable batteries is possible. However, the lower operating
voltage (rechargeable battery = 1.2 V, battery 1.5 V) and lower capacity will
reduce the operating time.
If no sensible information is shown in the display, please press the RESET
button (6) with a pointed object (e.g. with a bent paper clip) to activate the
reset function. In doing so, the internal processor is reset and is able to func-
tion properly again.
Settings
The faster you turn the control dial (5), the faster the settings will change.
Setting the time of day
• Press the SET button (3).
• The display for the alarm hour blinks.
• Set the time using the control dial (5).
• Press the SET button (3) to set the time format.
Time format
• Set the time format (time display in 12 h or 24 h format) using the control dial (5).
• Press the SET button (3) to save the settings and finish.
