- Page 4 WARNING! Before starting to operate the forestry tong, you must have read this manual thoroughly. The owner of the winch is responsible for ensuring that all operators and assistants are familiar with the forestry tong’s operation. Caution! Never attempt to use this forestry tong without sufficient training. Use this equipment only after thoroughly reading and digesting the contents of this manual.
- Page 5 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR VHZ-2300. Work safely! Observe all safety precautions. Entrust the operation and maintenance of the forestry tong only to suitable and reliable persons familiar with this work and over 18 years of age. Prior to use and at least once a day, check that the forestry tong is working smoothly and correctly. Defects must be repaired to a workmanlike standard.

Always put the swivel cylinder into “floating” position, so the swivel cylinder is able to turn freely when steering with the tractor, when transporting long logs. Important! The log ends are only to be placed 10-20 cm inside the grapples (see F.) B.
- Page 8 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE. Assembling the equipment: Attach the forestry tong to the tractor’s three-point suspension. Adjust the length of the top-link so that the machine will not interfere with the tractor cabin and the winch stands straight. Check the length of the power take-off shaft both in working position and in transport position and if necessary shorten it.
