Starting the Engine Using the
Ignition Key

Pull the blade-control bar to the handle and hold
it

Note:
When you pull the recoil-start handle,
pull it lightly until you feel resistance, then pull it
sharply
(Figure
16). Allow the rope to return to
the handle slowly.

If the machine does not start after several
attempts, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.

Using the Self-Propel Drive

(Self-Propel Models Only)
To engage the self-propel drive: squeeze the
self-propel-drive bar toward the handle and
hold it
(Figure
16).

Note:
The maximum self-propel ground speed
is fixed. To increase the ground speed, decrease
the space between the self-propel drive bar and
the handle.
To disengage the self-propel-drive, release the
self-propel drive bar.
