    WARNINGS _____________________________________________________________________________________ • The operation of this equipment will generate dust. This dust can be potentially harmful or contain toxic substances from abrasive used, coating being removed, or surface (object) being cleaned and/or blasted. Use equipment only in well ventilated areas. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) when operating the equipment.

Keep a working fire extinguisher in the work area at all times • Personal Protective Equipment • Wear all appropriate personal protective equipment when operating equipment and/or when in the work area. Personal protective equipment (P.P.E.) can help prevent serious injury, including eye injury, hearing loss, inhalation of toxins, fumes and dust.

    Pot Pressure Control Switch This switch allows you to pressurize and de-pressurize the vessel with a simple push or pull. Always make sure that the vessel is depressurized before removing any air or blast hoses, media metering valves or the handway assembly.

    BEFORE YOU BLAST Pre-Blast Check Before each use of the Abrasive Blaster, it must be checked to ensure it is in a safe condition to be used. Closely examine all components of the Abrasive Blaster for signs of excessive wear, worn out seals and hoses, or damaged components.
  • Page 8: Setting Up The Eco-100

    SETTING UP THE ECO-100 WARNING: The Procedures provided in the Operating Procedures section of the manual are designed to provide basic information on how to safely operate the features of the ECO-Flex® ECO-100 Abrasive Blasters. Only personnel thoroughly trained in abrasive blasting should operate the Abrasive Blaster. DANGER: Never perform any maintenance or attempt to open the Abrasive Blaster in any way while it is pressurized.
  • Page 9 Connect air hose to (customer supplied) compressor. Treated (clean, cool, dry) air is required to operate the ECO-100 properly. If compressor does not have an air-drying system ECO-Aire Air Drying System built-in, connect an (sold separately). 2. Connect air hose and blast hose. Always make sure to use safety cables and safety clips when making these connections 3.

    BLASTING Abrasive Metering Knob Abrasive Cut-Off Switch WARNING: The Blast Hose may kick back when Remote Control Handle is activated. Be prepared and brace yourself for kick back. Blast Hoses will normally kick back erratically for a short time when the Abrasive Blaster is started. WARNING: Never point the blast nozzle at yourself, other people, or the Abrasive Blaster.

    Pressurizing the Abrasive Blaster Before pressurizing the Abrasive Blaster make sure the following conditions occur: All “BEFORE YOU BLAST” procedures have been followed. • The pressure control button is deactivated (pushed in). • The Remote-Control Handle (Deadman) is released. • All hose connections are secure and have a safety clip and cable installed.

    VAPOR BLASTING & WASHDOWN PROCEDURES The ECO-100 is designed to inject water at the tip of the Vapor-Flex nozzle to suppress dust and to cool surfaces during the surface preparation process. If running water is not accessible or a rust inhibitor needs to be added to the water (for steel surface preparation), use the ECO-100 Water Pump.

    Water Supply Connection & Pump Pressure Relief Function Water Supply Connection: This connection is used for a standard garden hose connection (with house pressure running water at 60-80psi). The water pump is not required when connecting to running house pressure water. Pump Pressure Relief: This connection is also used to relieve air pockets in the water pump during the pump priming process and to relieve built up water pressure in the system after shutting equipment down and disconnecting...

    Water Pump On/Off Control This controls the pneumatic water pump. The pump is turned on when the control is in the vertical position and is turned off when the control is in the horizontal position. When using the water pump to siphon water, you may notice that the pump may not stop priming (pumping).

    SHUTTING DOWN Properly shutting down the system after blasting or cleaning process is complete ensures quick and easy setup for the ECO-100’s next use. Follow these steps after all blasting and wash down is complete. Fully close abrasive metering knob or turn abrasive cut-off switch to the off position. 2.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Symptom No air or media coming out of blast hose. Cause: Blast hose is clogged with wet media or media too large for nozzle. Solution: Clean out blast hose and nozzle. Symptom Water in tank bubbles & pump does not shut off when attempting to siphon water.
  • Page 25 Symptom: Pressure control button broken in the “on” position and system will not depressurize. Cause: Damaged/faulty pressure control switch Solution: Turn off supply air. Disconnect PTC tube fitting to exhaust valve. This will automatically relieve tank pressure. Replace pressure control switch before using the blaster again! Symptom Air is coming out of exhaust valve when vessel is pressurized.

    WARRANTY Eclipse Surface Technologies (E.S.T), hereinafter known as “Seller” warrants the products/equipment sold hereunder against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service excluding abrasion, erosion and corrosion for a period of twelve (12) months from date of shipment to Buyer. Buyer shall promptly report all asserted defects in the equipment, products or parts to Seller and shall afford Seller a reasonable opportunity to inspect all asserted defects.
