    WARNINGS _____________________________________________________________________________________ The operation of this equipment will generate dust. This dust can be potentially harmful or contain • toxic substances from abrasive used, coating being removed, or surface (object) being cleaned and/or blasted. Use equipment only in well ventilated areas. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) when operating the equipment.

  • Page 6: Setting Up The Eco-100

    SETTING UP THE ECO-100 WARNING: The procedures provided in the Operating Procedures section of the manual are designed to provide basic information on how to safely operate the features of the ECO-Flex® ECO-100 Abrasive Blasters. Only personnel thoroughly trained in abrasive blasting should operate the Abrasive Blaster. DANGER: Never perform any maintenance or attempt to open the Abrasive Blaster in any way while it is pressurized.
  • Page 7 2. Connect air hose and blast hose. Always make sure to use safety cables and safety clips when making these connections 3. Connect the red, black, and semi-clear blue poly lines at the coupler-side of the blast hose to the connections (unions) next to the abrasive flow valve. Make these connection color-to- color.

    BEFORE YOU BLAST Pre-Blast Check Before each use of the Abrasive Blaster, it must be checked to ensure it is in a safe condition to be used. Closely examine all components of the Abrasive Blaster for signs of excessive wear, worn out seals and hoses, or damaged components.

    BLASTING Abrasive Metering Knob WARNING: The Blast Hose may kick back when Remote Control Handle is activated. Be prepared and brace yourself for kick back. Blast Hoses will normally kick back erratically for a short time when the Abrasive Blaster is started. DANGER: Never stand near an Abrasive Blaster when it is in operation.

    pouring it into the top of the Abrasive Blaster where it can flow around the Pop-up and into the pressure vessel. Do not overfill the Abrasive Blaster. Do not allow foreign materials to enter the Abrasive Blaster. It is recommended that a screen (provided) be used to prevent foreign objects from entering the Abrasive Blaster.

    VAPOR BLASTING & WASHDOWN PROCEDURES The ECO-100 is fitted with a garden hose connection and requires a standard garden hose with house pressure water (60-80 PSI) to carry the water to the tip of the Vapor-Flex nozzle. If running water is not accessible or a rust inhibitor needs to be added to the water (for steel surface preparation), then use the ECO-100 Water Pump.

    Water Pump On/Off Control This controls the pneumatic water pump. The pump is turned on when the control is in the vertical position and is turned off when the control is in the horizontal position. Water Supply Connection & Pump Pressure Relief Function Water Supply Connection: This connection is used for a standard garden hose connection (with house pressure running water at 60-80 psi).

    REFILLING THE ECO-100 After deactivating pneumatic control handle (Deadman), keep nozzle firmly in hands and • pointed away from any person until abrasive flow has completely stopped. When the operator releases the Deadman, the ECO-100 will automatically depressurize. This • will deactivate the blaster and depressurize the blast pot.

    HANDWAY CLEAN OUT PROCEDURE Handway Assembly The ECO-100 system is also equipped with a handway clean out port on the side of the vessel. Never remove this handway if system is connected to compressed air or if the Deadman is activated. Use an adjustable or pipe wrench to disassemble the handway assembly.

    SHUTTING DOWN Properly shutting down the system after blasting or cleaning process is complete ensures quick and easy setup for the ECO-100’s next use.     WARRANTY Eclipse Surface Technologies (E.S.T), hereinafter known as “Seller” warrants the products/equipment sold hereunder against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service excluding abrasion, erosion and corrosion for a period of twelve (12) months from date of shipment to Buyer.
