Prior to fi rst use
❐ Danger of suffocation by the wrapper and bags. Keep children
away from the packaging.
Unpack the device and the accessories. Using the list of product contents (see "Product
Contents" section), check the contents for completeness and possible transport damage. If
you identify damage from transport, do not use the device (!); instead contact our customer
service centre.
Charging the Storage Battery
❐ Only use the enclosed charger to charge the device.
The storage battery must be charged prior to fi rst use. The storage battery will reach full capac-
ity after multiple charges and discharges.
This takes approximately 5 hours. Afterwards, the charging process ends automatically so that
the device is not overcharged.
3. When the green light illuminates, the storage battery has been charged. You may then discon-
nect the device from the power supply and store the charger in an area that is not accessible
to children.
Start-up
Mounting the Extra Handle
The product contents include an additional handle (5), which enables more stable handling of the
device.
Attaching the Collecting Hose with the Collecting Bag
❐ During assembly, do not reach into the cutting unit. The blade is
very sharp, you could injure yourself.
Before you start work, you have to attach the collecting hose (2) to the device.

1. Connect the charger cord to the connector jack (3) on the
trimmer.
2. Insert the mains plug of the charger in a 230 V earthed socket
that has been installed in compliance with regulations. Then the
charging process will start, this is indicated by the red charge
light (4). It takes approximately 5 hours for the storage battery
to be fully charged.
Pull the rubber plug up and out of the main unit, screw the
handle into the threading.
1. Pull the collecting hose out of the collecting bag (1).
2. Slip the open end of the hose over the ejection opening (9) on
the device and secure the hose in the indentation by affi xing the
hook-and-loop fastener. The fastener should be affi xed as closely
as possible around the ejection opening in order to prevent the
hose from slipping.
