7. Setup/Installation
Installation of the device must be carried out by a specialist familiar with the hazards and the
relevant regulations. Maintenance, operation and commissioning of this device must only be
carried out by qualified persons.
Never install the device so that the light effect may point right into the viewers' eyes. This would
increase the risk of eye injury from the escaping LED irradiation.
When choosing a place of setup or mounting site for your device, make sure to avoid shocks,
vibration, dust, hot and cold temperatures and dampness. Furthermore, no powerful transformers
or motors must be used close to the device.
When setting up/installing the device, make sure that the power cord and the remote control cable
are not crushed and cannot be damaged by any sharp edges.
Never operate the device on flammable surfaces or close to flammable objects. Always keep a
distance of at least 3 m from flammable objects.
Observe that the fog exit opening is not pointed at persons, animals or open flame. The escaping
hot steam may cause burns (comply with a safety distance of 1 m).
Ensure a sufficient ventilation of the device, maintain a free zone of 0.5 m around the device and
never cover the ventilation openings.
The fog machine must only be operated at a maximum ambient temperature of 40 °C.
Never place the device on an unstable underground. Ensure that it does not fall down and cause
injury.
The operating position of the device is horizontal with a maximum inclination angle of 30°.
The device must be installed/set up out of normal reach. If the fog machine is operated in an
elevated location, make sure no one can enter the space beneath it (danger of slipping and injury
through hot fog liquid and its residues).
During installation or service work, the area below the place of setup must be cordoned off.
The area or equipment of installation/setup must be designed in such a way that it can support
the tenfold rated load for at least one hour without being deformed permanently.
Additionally, the device must be secured with a second independent safety fixture besides the
actual installation fixture when installed/set up in an elevated position. No part of the installation
must fall down if the main suspension system fails.
All statutory regulations applicable in the respective country must be observed when installing/
setting up the device.
Acceptance test (in case of industrial/public use):
Before first use and after any significant modifications, the installation (including the electrical connections)
must be inspected by an official expert.
A yearly inspection by an expert is required.
At least every 4 years, an acceptance test must be carried out by an expert.
