    DEAR CUSTOMER, Thank you for choosing our mobile phone. By reading this instruction manual before using your  phone, you will gain a good understanding of the phone's key functions.  This phone is designed for 2G, 3G, and 4G cellular networks. It is enabled by KaiOS. In addition to  the basic calling and messaging functions, it allows you to use the phone book, ringtones, clock/ alarm, calendar, Voice Assistant, Facebook, WhatsApp, video player, camera, FM radio, web browser,  and more. This phone meets the 2G, 3G, and 4G standards and has been certified by all relevant organisations  worldwide. Please note that the contents of this instruction manual are subject to change without prior notice. 1.     Allows  you  to  charge  the  battery  and  transfer  data  to  or  from  Micro-USB port another device. Allows you to plug in the supplied wired earbuds with a microphone 3.5 mm headset jack  or other earphones for hands-free conversations or listening to  music.     4.2 Removing or inserting the battery Remove the back cover before removing or inserting the battery. ƒ To remove the battery, insert a fingernail or an opening tool into the gap in the upper-right corner  and lift the battery. ƒ To insert the battery, point the battery contacts downwards towards the contact points of the  battery compartment. Click the battery into place and attach the back cover.  Note: This mobile phone is intended to be used with the supplied battery only. 4.3 Inserting or removing the micro-SIM card and microSD card To use all your mobile phone services you must subscribe to a mobile network that will provide you  with a micro-SIM card assigned with a unique mobile number. To make phone calls, a valid micro- SIM card must be inserted. Power off the phone and remove the back cover and  battery before inserting or removing the micro-SIM card or microSD card.

    ƒ You can also charge your phone using the charging cradle. Insert the small plug of the charging  cable into the charging port on the back of the cradle. Insert the power plug into a power socket.  Place the closed phone in the cradle and ensure the phone's LED indicators face towards the front  of the cradle. The icon   will be displayed once the battery is fully charged. Remove the phone  from the cradle and unplug the adapter when you see this icon. To extend the battery life, you can turn on power saving mode when the phone is not being charged.  To do so, go to MENU > Settings > Device > Battery > Power Saving Mode and select On. NOTES: ƒ When a travel charger and its accessories are used to charge the battery, please check if they are  original or recognised by the original manufacturer. Using other accessories can damage your  mobile phone and present a risk.  ƒ Always use the accessories indoors and in a dry place. ƒ Do not throw the battery into a fire. Damaged batteries can cause an explosion.  ƒ Refer to the detailed safety instructions concerning the precautions for use of the battery. ƒ Do not leave the battery connected to a charger for longer than 12 hours. Overcharging may  shorten its life. 5.     To set a PIN code for the installed micro-SIM card, go to MENU > Settings > Network & Connectivity > SIM Manager > SIM Security > SIM PIN, select On, enter a number (4 to 8 digits long) using  the keypad, and select Done.     8.3 Sounds To adjust the Volume of the built-in speaker, use either of the methods below: - Press the up or down volume key on the left side of the phone to adjust the volume for ringtones  & alerts. - Go to MENU > Settings > Personalisation > Sound > Volume.  Select  Media,  Ringtones & Alerts, or Alarm and then press the left or right navigation key to adjust the volume for the selected  audio type. CONTACTS 10.1 Contact list The Contacts app stores your contact list. Your contact list is where you save contact information  for the people you know, including their names, phone numbers, and email addresses. To open the Contacts app, use either of the following methods: - Press the right soft key from the home screen. - Go to MENU > Contacts. Tips: - When the contact list is empty or an existing contact is highlighted, press the left soft key create a new contact. - When the contact list is not empty, press the down or up navigation key to highlight an existing  contact. - Press  to view the highlighted contact's details. - Press the right soft key to view the available options for the highlighted contact.

    10.5 Deleting contacts To delete contacts, follow the steps below: 1. Press the down or up navigation key to highlight any contact. 2. Press the right soft key  and select Delete contacts. 3.     11. SOS The SOS function allows you to set up to 5 contacts to be your emergency contacts, who will be  notified when you require assistance from them. To turn on this function, go to MENU > Contacts > Options > Settings > SOS > SOS setting and select On. The  default  SOS  message  is  "Please  help  me!"  To  change  the  SOS  message,  go  to  MENU > Contacts > Options > Settings > SOS, press the down navigation key twice, enter the message,  and press the left soft key to save the message.

    Tips: - To mute the ringtone of an incoming call, press either of the volume keys on the left side of your  phone. - You can adjust the volume of your receiver during a call by pressing the volume keys on the left  side of your phone. 12.3 Speed dial Speed dial is a function that allows you to place a call by pressing a single key. This function is  particularly useful for phone users who dial certain phone numbers on a regular basis. You can assign speed dial phone numbers to these keys: 2 to 9, M1, and M2. Note that only phone  numbers of contacts saved in the phone memory may be assigned. To place a call using speed dial, use either of the methods below: - From the home screen, press M1 or M2 to call the assigned phone number. - From the home screen, press and hold a number key (2 - 9) to call the assigned phone number. To assign a speed dial phone number to a key, use either of the methods below: Method 1: 1. Go to MENU > Contacts > Options > Settings > Set Speed Dial. 2.

    To add a phone number in your call records to your contact list, follow the steps below: 1. Go to MENU > Call log. 2. Choose a phone number (not yet in your contact list) from the list. 3. Press the right soft key  and select Create New Contact or Add to Existing Contact. 4. Select Phone memory or SIM memory and enter the contact information, or select a contact  from your contact list and make changes if needed. 5. Press to save the changes. 14. MESSAGING Your phone allows you to send and receive text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages using the  Messages app. You can also send and receive emails using the E-Mail app.

    Replying to a message - After  you  open  a  conversation  for  viewing,  the  Message box at the bottom of the screen is automatically highlighted and prompts you to enter a reply message. - To send a reply message, enter your message using the keypad or Voice Assistant and press the left soft key to send it. Deleting messages or conversations - When viewing a conversation, you can delete a message by highlighting it, pressing the right soft , selecting Delete, and pressing the right soft key again.

E-MAIL You can compose, send, and receive emails using the E-Mail app. To open the E-Mail app, go to  MENU > E-Mail. 15.1 Setting up an email account To set up an email account, follow the steps below: 1. Ensure you have connected your phone to the internet and go to MENU > E-Mail. 2. The email setup wizard will guide you through the steps to set up an email account on your phone.  Press the right soft key  to begin the setup. 3. Enter your name and email address for the account you would like to set up. Press the right soft  to continue. 4. When the next screen appears, follow the onscreen instructions to choose your account, allow  access to your account, enter your password, agree to service agreement, etc. The actions you  are required to take may vary between service providers. Press the right soft key  to complete  the setup. 5.     3. Press the right soft key  to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and continue. 4. Ensure your country is displayed above the Phone number box and enter your phone number.  In case a country other than your own is displayed, press the up navigation key to highlight the  country, press  , search for and highlight your country, press  , and enter your phone number. 5. Press the right soft key and then press   to confirm the phone number and receive the  verification code via SMS. 6. Enter the 6-digit verification code you received and press the right soft key to continue. If you  didn't receive the code, you can select Resend SMS or Call me to have the automated system  call you with the code. Note: This step may complete automatically, in which case you may proceed  to the next step.

    To send a voice message, follow the steps below: 1. Start a chat or open an individual or group chat. 2. Make sure you have the Message box selected. 3. Press twice and start speaking to record your voice message. 4. Press the right soft key  to stop recording. 5. You can then: ƒ Press the left soft key  to listen to the voice message. ƒ Press to send the voice message. ƒ Press the right soft key  to delete the voice message. Tip: To send other types of content such as an emoji, a photo, a video, and a contact, after Step 2  above, press the left soft key  and select the desired content.

    19. CLOCK Setting an alarm You can set multiple alarms using your phone’s Clock app. To set an alarm, follow the steps below: 1. Go to MENU > Clock > Alarm, or press the up navigation key from the home screen and select  Clock > Alarm. 2. Press the left soft key  to create a new alarm. 3.     Choose to use low, standard, or high resolution when recording videos. Video Resolution The default choice is high. Choose to let the camera take each photo immediately (Off), or after 3 Self Timer seconds/5 seconds/10 seconds. The default choice is Off. Choose  to  show  (On)  or  hide  (Off)  the  grid  on  the  main  screen  when  taking a photo. The grid divides the main screen into 9 parts to help you  Grid take better photos.     20.4 Music You can use the Music app to listen to music and other types of audios stored in your phone. The  supported audio file formats include mp3, wma, wav, and mod. You can transfer audio files to the  phone from another device (e.g. a PC) via the included Micro-USB cable. To open the Music app, go to MENU > Music. - The home screen of the Music app contains 4 tabs (also collectively called library): Playlist, Artists,  Albums, and Songs. - To cycle through the 4 tabs, press the right or left navigation key. - The  last  three  tabs  (Artists,  Albums,  and  Songs)  allow  you  to  search  for  audios  by  entering  a  keyword into the search bar at the top. - The Songs tab lists all your audios in ascending order of the file names. Choose to share the file using Bluetooth, Messages, E-mail, WhatsApp, or Facebook. 7. The app you chose in the above step will start, allowing you to share the file. Let's say you chose  Messages. The file will be attached to a draft multimedia message, and you can add a receiver  and other contents before sending the message. Tips: After opening Internal, SD Card, or a folder, you can search for the files you want by pressing  the right soft key ,  selecting  Search,  entering  a  keyword,  and  pressing  the  right soft key again. The keyword can be part of the filename or file extension.

STORE You can browse, search for, install, and uninstall all sorts of apps (games, maps, books, and more)  for KaiOS with the Store app. Though some commonly used apps like Facebook and YouTube are  preinstalled on your phone, additional apps are available for download. Many of these apps are free  (may include advertising) with others requiring payment. 23.1 General tips To open the Store app, ensure your phone is connected to the internet and go to MENU > Store. If you open the app for the first time, your phone will download and install it before opening it for you. - On the app's home screen, use the navigation keys to switch between categories and scroll through  the available apps. - To view the details of a highlighted app, press  . On an app's details page, press the navigation  keys to scroll through the page and highlight different elements such as the Read More button  or a screenshot, and press   to press a highlighted button or open a highlighted screenshot in  full-screen mode. - To view the options (e.g. Settings & Account and Download History) available for the Store app,  press the right soft key  on the app's home screen. 23.2 Searching for an app To search for an app, follow the steps below: 1.

    24. UTILITIES The Utilities folder contains four apps: Calculator, Recorder, Todo, and Unit Converter. These apps can be your handy tools in case of need. To open an app in the Utilities folder, Go to MENU > Utilities and select one of the apps in the  folder. 24.1 Calculator You can use the Calculator to perform basic arithmetic operations. - Enter a number using the keypad. Press the   key to enter a decimal point. Press the  key to enter a minus sign. - Press a navigation key to choose an arithmetic operation to be performed (add, subtract, multiply,  or divide). - Press  to calculate the final result. - Press the left soft key  to clear the previous entries one by one, or press the right soft key clear all entries at a time. 24.2 Todo You can use the Todo app to create, view, and edit your to-do lists. A to-do list is a list of tasks that ...

    Tips: - When you have highlighted a recording on the Recorder home screen or are viewing a recording's  details, you can press the right soft key  to view the available options such as Delete, Share,  Rename, Save as ringtone, and Save to music library. - To change the recording quality, from the Recorder home screen, press the right soft key , select  Settings > Recording Rate, and select 8K or 44K. 24.4 Unit Converter You can use the Unit Converter app to easily convert a value from one measurement unit to another,  e.g. from Celsius to Fahrenheit or from meters to feet. The available measurement unit types are  area, length, speed, temperature, volume, and weight. As an example, to convert -5.5 degrees from Fahrenheit to Celsius, follow the steps below: 1. OTHER APPS INSTALLED ON THIS PHONE Your phone comes with the following additional apps preinstalled for your convenience. You can  uninstall any of these apps from your phone via the Store app (For more details, see "23. STORE" on page 27.). Enjoy movies, TV shows, and videos on this popular online video sharing  YouTube and social media platform. View your local weather forecast for the next 10 days with this app. You  KaiWeather can also view the current humidity, wind speeds, and more in your city or  other cities around the world. Browse local and international news articles with this app. Choose news  News topics to fit your interests, such as politics, sports, entertainment, and  more. Open the Google home page with your phone's web browser and search  Google for anything you want.

    Tips: - You can reset your phone only when the battery is at least 25% full. - If you are afraid of losing any data stored in the microSD card, you can unmount the card before  resetting your phone. 30. TURNING ON THE SCREEN LOCK You can secure your phone and the data stored in it by turning on the screen lock. When the screen  lock is on, anyone who attempts to use your phone has to enter the correct passcode before using  most functions of your phone. The passcode is requested every time the phone screen turns on.  When the screen is locked, the user is only allowed to make emergency calls or use the camera. To turn on the screen lock, follow the steps below: 1. Go to MENU > Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Lock. 2. Select Screen Lock (off) and then select On. 3. Enter a new passcode (4 digits) twice. 4. Select Create. After the screen lock is turned on, you can turn it off or change the passcode on the Screen Lock page.

SETTINGS You can configure your phone's various settings and learn more about your phone with the  Settings app. ƒ To open the Settings app, press   from the home screen and select Settings from the Menu. ƒ After opening the Settings app, press the left or right navigation key to view different categories  of settings (Network & Connectivity, Personalisation, etc.). 31.1 Network & Connectivity Aeroplane Mode Aeroplane mode turns off all functions that emit or receive signals, while leaving your phone on so  you can use apps that don’t require a signal or data. While  your  phone  is  in  aeroplane  mode,  all  its  communication  functions  are  disabled  including  phone calls, messaging, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
