Note Personnel who work with service, replacement of parts and/or corrective maintenance must be authorized by the Kongsberg Maritime support organization. Rules for transducer handling To secure long life and accurate results, the transducer must be handled correctly. - Page 14 The anti-fouling paint will reduce the acoustical performance of the transducer. The surface roughness of the transducer substrate and the thickness of the paint may also influence the performance. Kongsberg Maritime cannot be held responsible for any negative consequences of the anti-fouling paint.

Replacing the transducer Removing the transducer The transducer is mounted under the transducer flange at the bottom of the transducer shaft. The transducer cable is placed inside the transducer shaft. Prerequisites The following specific tools and consumables are required for this task: •... - Page 16 Simrad SY50 Transducer replacement Open the Power Supply Unit. Disconnect the transducer cable. Tie a suitable rope to the end of the transducer cable. You need this rope to pull the new cable up through the transducer shaft. Disassemble the cable gland.

Simrad SY50 Transducer replacement All disposal of mechanical, electromechanical, electronic and chemical waste - including all types of batteries - must take place according to national and international rules and regulations. Observe the relevant Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations. - Page 19 Replacing the transducer Note The transducer body is fitted with self-locking threads. The internal thread provides a self-locking connection, which can be used repeatedly. For this reason it is not necessary to use any type of washers to secure the assembly. Procedure Install the O-ring.

The transducer cable is connected to the terminal block at the bottom of the Power Supply Unit.
