2.2 Patient Menu

The Patient Menu refers to all the settings that the patient can view to access and make adjustments. There are two Menu
Systems available in the device – Simple Mode and Advanced Mode. Refer to the Use and Care Manual for more details. Below is
a brief description of each symbol as it is shown by turning the SmartDial in a clockwise direction:
Symbol
Description
Ramp
Ramp can be activated in both CPAP and Auto Mode. Press the SmartDial and hold for 3 seconds while
the pressure is on. Ramp is active for 20 minutes, starting from one third of the set pressure or 4 cmH
whichever is greater. The Ramp symbol will appear on the Home Screen while the Ramp is operating.
Humidity
Humidity is available from levels 0 to 7 in both Simple Mode and Advanced Mode. The default humidity
level is 4. In Advanced Mode, if the patient requires a different humidity range, press and hold the
SmartDial for 3 seconds while in the Humidity setting and the Boost symbols will appear
Humidity can be selected from low, medium or high. The default is for medium-humidity Boost.
Alarm On/Off
The Alarm function can be turned On or Off in this setting. If Alarm On is selected, the patient can choose
a standard alarm bell sound, or AlarmTunes™, which allows personalized music from the InfoUSB™.
Refer to the F&P Studio™ CD for instructions on installation and use.
Alarm Time
Select the time for the Alarm to activate.
Alarm Volume
To adjust the volume of the alarm bell or music, turn the SmartDial to the desired level.
To adjust the click volume of the SmartDial, press and hold for 3 seconds while in this setting.
Clock Time
Turn the SmartDial to select the hour, minutes, 12-hr or 24-hr time.
Brightness
Turn the SmartDial to select the desired Home Screen Brightness and press to accept the change.
NOTE: You can also change the Active Screen Brightness. Press and hold the SmartDial for 3 seconds and
the device symbol will appear
Sleep Data
This setting allows the patient to view their Sleep Data results. This could be used as a tool to monitor
therapy progress or to provide a compliance check over the telephone. Refer to the Use and Care Manual
for more details about the Sleep Data setting.
SensAwake
The user can disable the SensAwake function if required. SensAwake is available with Auto and Premo
On/Off
models.
NOTE: SensAwake is defaulted to Off in Premo models.
User Preferences
This setting allows the patient to view and/or adjust the Flight Mode, Display Pressure, and Altitude.

Flight Mode can be activated if reduced power input is required. Flight Mode will run
the CPAP on 75 W, however humidity output in this mode will be greatly reduced.
NOTE: If you are intending to use your CPAP during flight, confirm with your airline
for F&P ICON approval prior to travel.
The Display Pressure setting provides the ability to show pressure on the Home
Screen during therapy in cmH
For models without Automatic Altitude adjustment, the altitude can be adjusted by
turning the SmartDial.
