Engage the emergency stop button on the EDGE Ti before performing any maintenance. Introduction Purpose This field service bulletin provides information necessary to disassemble and reassemble the Hypertherm ® EDGE Ti Lifter to replace any of the parts listed below. - Page 3 EDGE TI LIFTER REPAIR Preparation Before you remove the lifter from the cutting table, position the carriage approximately at the middle of its travel position for the best access to internal components. Remove the upper and lower covers 1. Use a 3 mm Allen wrench to remove the 6 screws from the upper cover and then remove the cover.
- Page 4 EDGE TI LIFTER REPAIR To replace the ohmic contact wire or the printed circuit board 1. Disconnect the breakaway switch’s wire from J2 (labeled “BAWAY”) on the printed circuit board. 2. Use a 3 mm Allen wrench to remove the screw that secures the L-bracket to the base of the board.

Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to disconnect the black ohmic contact wire from the J1 terminal block (labeled “Shield”). Note: When reconnecting the ohmic contact wire, it does not matter which of the two J1 terminals it is connected 8.
- Page 6 EDGE TI LIFTER REPAIR 2. Use a #1 Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw from the breakaway proximity switch. 3. Use a 3/16-inch Allen wrench to remove the 4 screws that holds the steel breakaway plate to the lifter. Carefully remove the steel plate by feeding the proximity switch through the hole in the plate.
- Page 7 EDGE TI LIFTER REPAIR To replace the motor or motor coupling 1. On the top of the lifter, use a 3/32-inch Allen wrench to remove the 4 screws that secure each of the circular connectors (labeled “MOTOR” and “ENCODER”) to the sheet metal.
- Page 8 EDGE TI LIFTER REPAIR 5. Use snap-ring pliers to remove the snap ring from the bottom end of the ball screw through the hole in the bottom of the lifter. Snap ring 6. Remove the ball bearing from the shaft.
- Page 9 EDGE TI LIFTER REPAIR For the linear-bearing cartridge and ball screw, the bearing manufacturer recommends grease with the following characteristics: 1. Lithium soap-based grease 2. NLGI Grade 2 3. No metal particles. Some greases use copper or aluminum particles, which may be abrasive.

Utiliser une clé Allen de 3 mm pour desserrer la vis qui fixe le support en L à la base du CI. Vis du support en L 3.

- Page 15 RÉPARATION DU LÈVE-TORCHE EDGE TI Pour remplacer le moteur ou l’accouplement du moteur 1. À la partie supérieure du lève-torche, utiliser une clé Allen de 3/32 po pour desserrer les 4 vis qui fixent chaque cosse circulaire (étiquette « MOTOR » et « ENCODER ») à la tôle. 2.
