Use one of the following methods for enabling RAID on your workstation. • Setting up RAID using HP Recovery Media—Use these instructions when you need to install the customized image from HP on to your workstation. Customers who choose this installation typically need the software that was originally bundled with the workstation and HP support tools in addition to the OS. -

Storage > Controller Order and set the Intel <name of RAID volume> to first in the boot order. For HP Workstation xw4200, if you are installing the OS on the RAID array, select Storage > Boot Order and set the Intel <name of RAID volume> to first in the boot order. -

For the HP Workstation xw8200 and HP Workstation xw6200, select Advanced > Device Options > SATA RAID Option ROM = Enable, then press the F10 key to accept changes. For the HP Workstation xw4200, select Storage > Storage Options > SATA Emulation = RAID, then press the F10 key to accept changes. -

Fixing known issues on HP Workstation xw4200 If you have an HP Workstation xw4200 with the operating system installed on a SCSI hard drive and with the SATA RAID controller enabled in the BIOS, go to WO040817_CW01 in the search box. After performing the search, click the link that pertains to customer advisories and you will find relevant information for fixing your workstation. -
