This button is used to turn the PC power on or off. With some operating
systems always shut down the PC using the Shut Down command,
rather than by just pressing the on/off button. Refer to your operating
system documentation for more information.
If there is a problem during the shutdown procedure and the software
hangs, then, after one minute, press the on/off button for four seconds.
This turns off the power but may result in data being lost. You should
only use this method of turning off the PC when the normal shutdown
procedure does not work.
This light glows/flickers when your hard disk drive is being accessed.
The hard disk activity light will also work if you install a second IDE hard
disk drive (supplied by HP). You should note, however, that the hard
disk activity light does not work for SCSI drives.
