Safety Information Your Cole-Parmer Hot Plate, Stirrer or Stirring Hot Plate has been designed with function, relia- bility, and safety in mind. It is your responsibility to install it in conformance with local electrical codes. This manual contains important operating and safety information. - Page 4 AFETY NFORMATION 5. “Caution: Hot Surface. Avoid Contact.” The top plate will remain hot without visual indication for some time after the unit has been turned off. 6. Keep the top surface clean. Use a non- abrasive cleaner. Alkali spills, hydro- fluoric acid spills or phosphoric acid spills may damage top and lead to ther- mal failure.

Operation Introduction Your general purpose heating and/or stirring devices are intended for general laboratory pro- cedures. A vessel with a flat bottom is recom- mended on the hot plate and stirring hot plate for ideal heat transfer. Avoid metal containers, sand- baths or vessels with a rim around the bottom as these could cause damage to the hot plate and stirring hot plate. -

Warranty The Cole-Parmer Instrument Company warrants this product to be free from significant deviations in material and workmanship for a period of one year or as otherwise stated in the operating manual.
