10- LED's. Mount these according to the diagram. Watch the polarity!
11- Mount the male flat receptacles
12- Mount the print pins
13- Mount the fuse holder, and insert the fuse.
14- Mount the transformer. First insert the core in the transformer, as shown in
the diagram. The cores must then be wedged in the metal clamps. It is
impossible for the transformer to be wrongly mounted, due to the types of
connectors.
IMPORTANT
-Solder a 1mm diameter wire along all tinned paths, as these paths must
conduct currents up to 30(15)A! (see fig. 1.0)
INSPECT ALL MOUNTED COMPONENTS THOROUGHLY!
15 Mounting the output transistors:
-Make two perforations in the supporting section as indicated in figure 1.1.
-Mount the 5mm threaded spacer in one of the holes together with a lock
washer and a 6mm M3 bolt (see fig. 1.2.).
-Slide the PCB into the largest slot of the section, in such a way that the hole in
the PCB coincides with the threaded bush. Lock the PCB in place using the
4mm M3 bolt.
-Bend the transistors' leads upwards (fig. 1.3), so that they can be mounted as
shown in the figure (dont forget the isolation mica's!). It is only after that one
has secured the transistors with the metal plate (using lock washer and nut)
that the connections may be soldered.
16 Insert the IC into its socket. Make sure you align the notch on the IC with the
marking on the PCB!
TEST
See also fig. 2.0:
-Connect the circuit's - lead to the corresponding - lead of the battery (or
alternatively, use a stabilized power supply).
-Connect the batteries' + pole to the circuit's + lead, using a 12(24)V lamp with
about 20W (this will light-up in case of a fault in the circuit, and will also limit
the current over the circuit).
-Connect the circuit's + terminal and the circuit's ON/OFF switch. If all is correct,
both the red LED's should light-up and one should be able to measure about
70V between the -V and +V terminals. The lamp should however remain dark.
-If the test is a succes, the connections may be removed.
