Shooting Close-Ups

Use this mode to shoot close-ups of flowers or small items.
(Close-ups cannot be taken in some shooting modes.)
Image Area at Minimum Shooting Distance from Front of Lens to Subject
Maximum wide angle setting: 65 x 49 mm (2.6 x 1.9 in.) (4 cm (1.6 in.) from lens))
Maximum telephoto setting: 107 x 80 mm (4.2 x 3.1 in.)* (30 cm (11.8 in.) from lens))
* When the zoom is set between the maximum telephoto and wide-angle settings, the
effective distance from the lens to the subject becomes the same as for the maximum
telephoto setting
Use the LCD monitor to compose close-ups in macro mode since
images composed with the viewfinder may be off-center.
The flash cannot be used in Macro mode.
