Tips & Tricks – Scarifying & Raking
Lawn Preparation
Before scarification, always ensure the grass is cut
to a length of around 40mm. This will prevent the
machine from pulling out healthy grass when
extracting thatch.
Post Scarification Treatment
After scarifying a lawn, use fertilizer and grass seed to help the lawn recover. The
lawn will have the tools it needs to become healthier.
Scarifier Cartridge (Rigid Steel Blades)
This cartridge is designed to break the
built up thatch, and penetrate the
ground. This helps the lawn breathe,
allow oxygen and water reach the
roots.
Lawn Raking
Raking a lawn extracts the Thatch without
penetrating the ground. This can be seen as a less
aggressive method used to maintain a healthy
lawn. You should not rake grass longer than 75mm

Cassette)
The Spring Tine Cassette Cartridge is
design to scratch at the ground of
the lawn without penetration. This
will extract the unwanted thatch
and small weeds.
