Personal computer
There is no sound.
• Connect the personal computer properly.
• Adjust computer volume and that of music
playback software (see "Listening to audio files
on a personal computer" on page 40).
• Press FUNCTION + or – repeatedly (or press PC/
TV/AUDIO IN repeatedly on the unit) to select
"PC" (page 40).
• If no sound is output from this system:
– For Windows users, select "USB Audio DAC"
in "Multimedia" or "Sounds and Multimedia"
(for Windows 2000/Me) or "Sounds, Speech,
and Audio Devices" (for Windows XP) on the
Control Panel of the computer.
– For Macintosh users, disconnect and reconnect
the USB cable (Mac OS 9), or select "USB
Audio DAC" in "Sound" on the "System
Preferences" of the computer (Mac OS X).
• If no sound is output from the computer:
– For Windows users, turn off the system or
disconnect the USB cable, or select the standard
audio device in "Multimedia" or "Sounds and
Multimedia" (for Windows 2000/Me) or
"Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices" (for
Windows XP) on the Control Panel of the
computer.
– For Macintosh users, turn off the system or
disconnect the USB cable (Mac OS 9), or select
the standard audio device in "Sound" on the
"System Preferences" of the computer (Mac OS
X).
Optional components
There is no sound.
• Refer to General item "There is no sound."
(page 45) and check the condition of the system.
• Connect the component properly (page 42) while
checking:
– if the cords are connected properly.
– if the cord plugs are firmly inserted all the way.
• Turn on the connected component.
• Refer to the operating instructions supplied with
the connected component and start playing.
If the system still does not
operate properly after performing
the above measures, reset the
system as follows:
Use buttons on the unit for the operation.

Remove the disc if it is loaded.

Disconnect the power cord.

Reconnect the power cord.

Press ?/1 to turn on the system.

Press DVD NX to switch the function to
DVD and make sure that "NO DISC" is
displayed.

Press x, PLAY MODE and DVD NX at the
same time.
The system is reset to the factory settings except
for DVD settings. You should set the settings
you made, such as the preset stations, clock, and
timer.
To return the DVD setup to the
default settings*, perform reset
as follows:
The operation can only be set using the TV
screen.

Press
DISPLAY in stop mode.

Press < or , repeatedly to select "Reset,"
then press ENTER.

Press < or , repeatedly to select "YES,"
then press ENTER.
It takes a few seconds to complete. Do not
press ?/1 when resetting the system.
