  • Why is my Allen + Roth SUMTER 21-B461H-BN-AR faucet leaking underneath the handle?

If your Allen + Roth SUMTER 21-B461H-BN-AR faucet is leaking underneath the handle, the bonnet may have come loose or the O-ring on the cartridge might be dirty or twisted. To resolve this, first move the handle to the OFF position, unscrew and remove the handle. Then, tighten the bonnet by turning it clockwise. If the leak stops, reinstall the handle. If not, shut off the water supply, remove the bonnet, and inspect the O-rings on the cartridge bonnet and stem for debris or twisting. Clean or straighten them. If damaged, replace the cartridge. Position the cartridge back into the faucet body, ensuring ridges fit into grooves, and tightly screw the bonnet, then reinstall the handle.

Remove the handle and loosen the bonnet, then lift out the cartridge assembly. Inspect the rubber valve seat for debris or brass scrap and remove it. If the seat is stuck, gently push it to move smoothly. Ensure the spring is placed back underneath. If the rubber valve seat is worn out or broken, replace the cartridge. Finally, position the cartridge back into the faucet body, making sure the ridges fit into the grooves, tightly screw the bonnet, and reinstall the handle.
