16. Stitch length/pitch can't readjust

16-1. Check the brake pressure for main cam
Brake pad
Caution: Never put any oil on the surface of
brake pad (part No. S1-1471). If some oil are
on the surface of it, clean up the oil completely.
See the service manual, page 3.
16-2. Check the feed/stitch arm set
One-way clutch
bearing
Feed/stitch arm set
*CUATION: Never put any grease into one-way clutch bearing. It is only sewing machine oil.

17. Skip/jump stitch or needle thread snaps/breakage frequently

17-1. Check all threads threading
17-2. Check the needle system.
Your machine needle system is "Schmetz" system 558 #90 ~ #120. Depend on the materials for
sewing, the size of needle should be requested to change. When changing the size of needle, readjust
the position of loopers/spreaders and also needle guard.
See the service manual, page 5.
17-3. Check the surface of loopers/spreaders, needle guard or throat plate.
17-4. Check the surface of threading hole of the part No. S1-2931 (part list page 2, item No. 46), S1-2953A
(part list page 3, item No. 12), S1-2951 (part list page 3, item No. 11), S1-2914 (part list page 2, item
No. 7), S1-0514 (part list No.6, item No. 53).
Feed/stitch arm set :
Part No. S1-1791 (machine serial No. 01001~01213)
Part No. SE-17301A-P (machine serial No. 01214~)
If some of fabric dusts or other go into the clutch bearing or when the
clutch bearing is worn out, the feed/stitch arm slips and the table does
not work/feed properly. In that case, remove the feed/stitch feed arm set
from the machine and clean the clutch bearing. After cleaning it, set it
to original position and test the machine. Please change it to new part
if the feed/stitch does not work properly after cleaning and testing.
Check the surface of
loopers, spreaders, needle
guard and throat plate.
If there are some scratch,
those scratches are bad
effect on stitching.
