    1 USB Modem Introduction 1.1 Introduction Thank you for choosing the K4505-Z USB modem. Please read this manual carefully and keep it for future reference. The pictures, symbols and contents in this manual are for reference only. They are correct at the time of publication but might not be completely identical with your modem.

    2 Installation 2.1 Unpacking Check the following articles are in the package: Modem, USB Extension cable, Quick Start Guide and User Manual. 2.2 Software Installation 2.2.1 Insert the SIM Card into the Modem The SIM card is the Subscriber Interface Module provided by your Ser- vice Provider.

    In most cases the single cable should suffice. However, to increase the power delivered to the modem, use the double USB cable if required 2.2.3 First Time Software Installation After the modem is connected, your computer will launch the installation application software automatically.

    If your computer does not launch the software automatically click Start > Programs > Rogers Connection Manager > Rogers Connec- tion Manager to run the application software, or double click the short- cut icon on the desktop. Note: The modem can take up to 30 seconds to launch the user interface. If you click the icon during the auto-run sequence you may see an error message on your computer.
